After sports biopics have hit the theatres on a consistent basis in the past year or so, yet another biopic is set to hit the theatres with Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor reportedly offered the role of the proposed biopic of Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. After movies like Dangal, MS Dhoni the Untold Story and Sultan have done exceedingly well at the box office, the movie based on Yuvraj Singh might break all the records.

Yuvraj’s life has been inspirational for people from every stratum. So he is a subject matter of any movie without a doubt. The southpaw was instrumental in bringing India two World Cups. One in 2007 and one in 2011. He also fought cancer and came back strongly. Very recently he made his 5th comeback after fighting cancer and struck form with a career-best 150 against England in the ODI series.

According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor has emerged as the leading actor to play the role of Yuvraj. Ranbir has earlier expressed his desire to play the role of the flamboyant Punjab cricketer in reel- life. During the promotion of Ae Dil Hain Mushkil last year, Ranbir has expressed his desire to play Yuvi’s role. “Yes, I can confirm that Ranbir has received these offers, but he has not taken a call on either. Let’s see what happens in the future,” Sportskeeda was quoted as saying by a source close to the Ranbir camp.

“Like I mentioned earlier, Yuvraj Singh. I think he has had an interesting story,” he told StarSports in a show on the sidelines of India-New Zealand series. But during a talk show a few days earlier Yuvraj had cited Akshay Kumar as the perfect personality to play his role. Yuvraj had said, Kumar “fits” the bill.
