Ranji Trophy 2016-17 is inching towards the knockouts stage. All teams are keen on notching up big wins to make it to the next stage. While Maharashtra suffered a heavy defeat against Odisha on day 2, Goa got to a comprehensive win on day 3. The day 4 was expected to see a lot of results unfold. That is how the trend unfolded on the final day of the round.

Madhya Pradesh clinched a thumping 232 run win against Baroda. Chandrakant Sakure bagged 5/17 to restrict Baroda to a paltry 114 in their second innings. Baroda could not add to their overnight score of 114 on the day. Kerala arrived home with a clinical 7-wicket win over Tripura. Kerala opener Mohammad Azharuddeen was unfortunate to have missed out on a well-deserved ton. He was dismissed on 99 on the final day of the game.

Hyderabad also inflicted a heavy 286 run defeat on Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir side skittled out for 117 in their second innings.Jharkhand cruised to an easy 5 wicket win against Assam. Vidarbha and Delhi had to play out a draw as rain played spoilsport. Gujarat and Punjab had to settle with a draw too. Uttar Pradesh and Saurashtra registered wins over Railways and Karnataka respectively. Table toppers Karnataka suffered a 4 wicket defeat at the hands of Saurashtra.
