Ranji Trophy 2016-17 is moving towards the business end, with the quarter-finals round the corner, all teams are keen on beefing up their strengths. Karnataka and Haryana notched up clinical wins on the day 3. Karnataka ended Maharashtra’s quest to qualify for the finals with a thumping 10-wickets win. Haryana beat Tripura by a handsome margin of 119 runs.
In the match between Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, Kushank Gandhi’s unbeaten 150 saw Tamil Nadu take a lead of 90 runs in the first innings. Playing against Goa, Himachal Pradesh batsmen Prashant Chopra (194) and Sumeet Verma (160) helped their side post a mammoth 528 on the board in response to Goa’s 380.
Chhattisgarh’s Sumit Ruikar bagged 5/59 against Jammu and Kashmir to restrict them to 242 as against Chhattisgarh’s total of 370. Kerala’s Sachin Baby scored an unbeaten 112 against Services.
