Round 3 of the Ranji Trophy 2016/17 witnessed maximum draws as only a handful of games reached the conclusion after four day’s play. It was Sayan Mondal for his century in the first innings was awarded the man of the match. In a group C contest, Haryana skipper Mohit Sharma with a five-wicket haul led his side to a splendid 161-run win over Ranji Trophy debutants Chhattisgarh in Guwahati. Mohit for his match haul of 9 wickets was awarded the player of the match.

Sourabh Tiwary’s Jharkhand beat Rajasthan by runs in another group C encounter as left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem picked a seven-wicket haul in the first innings and grabbed another 4 wickets in the second knock to give key blows to the opposition.
