The fifth round of the ongoing 2019-20 Ranji Trophy kicked off across the domestic circuit with some enthralling encounters. In a game between Baroda and Saurashtra, the left-handed fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat took another five-wicket haul in this season. He was simply unplayable as the batsmen were finding it difficult to play strokes against him. The 28-year-old registered amazing bowling figures of 6/34 and he helped his team in restricting Baroda to a meagre score of 154 on Day 1.
Mumbai came up with a bang on performance against Himachal Pradesh. The previous match’s hero Sarfaraz Khan smashed his second double ton of Ranji Trophy 2019-20. He smacked a brilliant triple century against Uttar Pradesh and now he is moving towards his consecutive second triple century. At the end of Day’s play, he went unbeaten for a score of 226. Aditya Tare, the Mumbai skipper also played a vital knock of 62 runs. He stitched a brilliant partnership of 155 runs with Sarfaraz. Currently, Mumbai has scored a total of 372 runs for a loss of five wickets.
Bengal came face to face against Delhi in Ranji Trophy game. Delhi won the toss and elected to field. They got a good start to their game on the back of their left-arm orthodox bowler Vikas Mishra. He grabbed three wickets that helped his side in taking a good lead in the match. Later on, Anustup Majumdar (94*) and Shreevats Goswami (59) stitched a brilliant partnership of 117 runs as the duo rescued Bengal from the early blows in the match.
