Ravi Ashwin’s wife takes on a troll and gives an apt reply; the spinner loves it

Ravi Ashwin, who is not in the white ball plans of Indian team management for a long time, will be seen plying his trade in the English County Cricket circuit shortly. In the meantime, he and wife Prithi are gearing up for something big, which will help the off-spinner give back to the game which has made him a huge star and a role model for many up and coming cricketers.

Ashwin is focusing his energies on his foundation, which will be conducting a talent search in association with Gen-Next Cricket Institute in at the Center for Sports Science, Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Porur, Chennai on June 1 and 2. The talent search will see the participation of boys aged between 10-16 and having formal education in cricket.

Trolls make fun of Ashwin and say eligibility is based on Mankading skills

The five best cricketers out of 100 applicants in the talent search will be handpicked by the off-spinner himself and will be awarded the Ashwin Foundation scholarship. This scholarship will enable them to undergo scientific training under the watchful eyes of Ashwin himself for a period of one year. This is a big opportunity for any budding cricketer and as the post was advertised on Twitter, inquiries started pouring in.

However, along with inquiries, came trolls, who started bringing in his Mankad dismissal off Jos Buttler in IPL 2019 in the conversation and mentioned that the applicants needed to know how to Mankad a batsman for becoming eligible for the talent search. One such troll went a step forward and mentioned that even the batsman will be selected on their ability to keep their bats in the crease and avoiding Mankading situations.

Note: Selection process based on “Mankad” skills shown by bowlers. Batsmen selected based on the crease depth at which they keep their bat at non-strikers end. No need of wicket keepers.

This apparently didn’t go down well with Prithi, Ashwin’s wife and she came back with a screenshot of her hilarious reply to some other person, who was pointing out the same issue. In her reply, Prithi mentioned that no applicant needed to know the Mankad, but they will teach the complete rulebook once selected and just needed passion and skills for the game.

The off-spinner, who himself is known for his sarcastic replies, apparently liked his wife’s reply to the troll and retweeted her reply with some emojis.
