Following a very successful year on the international circuit, world No.1 all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin stated that he would have loved to be a part of the Tamil film Chennai-28 2 directed by renowned filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. It’s the sequel of the movie Chenna-28 from 2007.

The film is based on street cricket in India focussing on various other aspects of life including friendship, love and rivalry in a suburban area. Following its release it received critical acclamation and despite the expectations being less, the film emerged as a surprise sleeper hit and went on to achieve more success in the subsequent years.

The success of the film helped all the newcomers in the industry to make a case for themselves and also helped in the popularity of director Venkat Prabhu. The sequel is also about the same gully cricket team who reunites after their marriage.

Very recently Ashwin became only the 3rd Indian after Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar to bag the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy after he was named as the ICC Cricketer of the Year for 2016. His record-breaking spree in the longest format of the game also helped to bag the ICC Test Cricketer of the year. The Indian spin ace has taken 73 wickets in the calendar year besides scoring 612 runs including two centuries against the Caribbeans.

Following his achievement, Ashwin took to Twitter to thank all of those people who played an important role in shaping his career. He thanked everyone who played a role in the making of Ashwin including Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble but forgot to mention MS Dhoni who played a major part in shaping up his career. Dhoni was the one who gave him the much-needed break when other cited him to be a CSK quota.

Following this tweet, many people reminded him that he forgot to name Dhoni who is perhaps the most important man behind his success. Ashwin responded in a polite manner requesting the social media public to stop tagging his wife in pictures and said his wife had better things to do.
