Ravichandran Ashwin picks up his All-time International XI

Sportstar organized a contest for the cricket fans wherein the fans get a chance to interact with the Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The contest is named  #AskAshwinContest and the twitter-heads have been flooding in with the questions for Ashwin. A few lucky fans got their questions answered.

One of the fans asked Ashwin to pick up his all time favorite International XI. The Rising Pune Supergiants was a bit reluctant to answer as he knew it would drive in some controversy. But he came up with a list that boasts of only Indian player, Sachin Tendulkar.

The team tweeted by Ravi Ashwin was: Sachin Tendulkar, Adam Gilchrist, Jacques Kallis, Brian Lara, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Steve Waugh, Michael Bevan, Lance Klusener, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram and Glenn Mcgrath.

Fair enough to say that Ashwin picked up the best possible XI that he could and the fans would absolutely like his choice. Ashwin was quick to retweet that he picked up players from the past to avoid any controversy.

Ashwin, who is known for his witty remarks on Twitter, was also asked who his favorite spinner was among Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble. Ashwin was quick to reply that he has always looked up to Anil Kumble and would pick him as his favorite spinner. The reason, he explained, was that he knows the story behind Kumble’s road to fame and the challenges and hurdles he had to face in his career.

Ravichandran Ashwin is currently one of the leading spinners in world cricket and is rated as the best spinner in the T20 format.
