Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is always a breath of fresh air on twitter, with a tweet from the ace Indian off-spinner almost on a daily basis. The 29-year-old gave yet another amazing reply when a fan openly accused him of throwing or illegal action.
The incident began when Ravi Ashwin’s IPL franchise the Rising Pune Supergiants congratulated him and the Indian team for their victory in the Asia Cup opener against Bangladesh.
A reply to the post from the fan read: “Illegal action, where is ICC”.
To which the wily Ashwin replied “Dubai..”
Ashwin played a pivotal role in India’s rise in the T20 rankings. With series wins over Australia and Sri Lanka, the Indians will be happy that they are peaking at the right time. The first fixture between India and Bangladesh saw Ashwin’s economical bowling come to the fore. He also picked up a wicket as the Indians won by 45 runs.
This is not the first time that Ashwin has entertained his twitter faithful. The previous incident came when the Indians had thrashed a hapless South Africa 3-0 in the Test series. He picked up 31 wickets in four Tests played and was subsequently awarded the man of the series award.
The fan tweeted to Ashwin: “you can show your performance only in Asia … Foreign condition you are waste there are many bowlers perform more that u”
Here is what Ashwin replied to him (Translated from Tamil): “Go and focus on getting your kids educated instead of worrying about me, did I ask your permission before deciding to take up cricket?”
Kudos to the stand-out performers from yesterday's game against Bangladesh. Next up, #INDvsPAK! #AsiaCup #BANvIND pic.twitter.com/PWA2aPYNII
