India and Australia are fighting it out for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After three of the most absorbing Test matches Australia are winning it with series tied at 1-1. If the fourth and the final Test sees a similar result then Australia will retain the Trophy.
After a fantastic win in the Bangalore Test where India rode on the performances from spin twins, Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. This series has seen Jadeja grow as a player and go to the next level. He has been phenomenal for India picking up six wickets in Bangalore in the first innings and then two crucial wickets in the second innings.
He repeated the feat in Ranchi. On a batting wicket where every bowler struggled Jadeja was the lone bowler who managed to pick wickets. He picked up nine wickets in the game as he pipped Ashwin to be the number one bowler in the world.
Bishan Singh Bedi was all praise of Ravindra Jadeja as he pointed out the growth of the spinner. He said that Jadeja is getting closer to the Indian spin maestro Ravi Ashwin. And also stated that there can be no comparison between him and Ashwin as they play for the same side and are doing well for the country.
“Ravindra Jadeja has grown immensely as a player. He is bowling brilliantly and his contribution with the bat has also been wonderful. He is getting closer to Ravichandran Ashwin. Both are performing well for the side and supporting each other. So there is no comparison between them,” Bishan Singh Bedi told Indian Express.
Jadeja has picked up 67 wickets in this season and is enjoying the form of his life. He is not only a handy batter but also is lightening quick in the field. The Saurashtra-boy also showcased his batting skills during the Ranchi Test. He hit a magnificent half century which put the Australians in a spot of bother as India managed to take a 151 run lead.
