Ravindra Jadeja and his seven for was clearly the talk of the town on the final day of the series against England at Chepauk. However, as his character and good riddance has it, it is clear that the 27-year-old southpaw is much more than just a forward thinker. Taking it a step forward, Jadeja has stated that the Indians would give a better account of themselves in the upcoming tours overseas.

“I and my team want to promise our fans around the world that India will put up a good show overseas in 2017. We are keen to shed the poor traveler’s tag,” Jadeja said in Bengaluru on Wednesday. “Nowadays, the boys are very fit and spend a lot of time in the gym and that is the reason why we are able to give our best on the field,” he said.

Jadeja also reiterated that his main focus was to play good cricket. “My main focus is to play good cricket and if I do that I know many more brands will approach me in future,” he said.

Interestingly, he also had a few things to say about the current demonetization problem in India affecting a lot of folks in the country. “I am not facing any problem because of demonetization. Until the time everything is going well, it’s good,”

The all-rounder also applauded the team effort, as he added, “Everyone performed well. The youngsters who came in the team for the series also played well. As a team, everyone performed their role well, be it a bowler or a batsman. The team effort was good. Our Indian team is capable of playing in any condition. We recently toured West Indies and defeated them. So, either we play in India or in any other country. We are ready to take the challenge,”

“We are putting more effort in the gym. So that is the reason we are giving our best performance on the field. I think everyone is looking fit on the ground and playing good cricket for team India.  My focus remains that if I am playing for India, I should play well. I have to showcase the talent which I have.”
