Indian left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja is all set to feature for Saurashtra in their next game against Jammu Kashmir in Rajkot on Saturday. He missed out on the opener for his state side as he had to attend a family wedding. However, the inclusion of the experienced all-rounder will boost the batting and bowling both for Saurashtra. The team won their opening game of the season against Haryana with a bonus point and started their tournament on a good note.

Jadeja is currently out of the limited overs set-up of the Indian team as he wasn’t included in the ODI and the ongoing T20I series against Australia. Though he was with the team for the first three matches of the 5-match series as cover for Axar Patel, he didn’t play a single game. It remains to be seen now if the 28-year-old would be recalled to the side for the upcoming series against New Zealand.

Coach pleased with Jaddu’s return

The coach of Saurashtra Shitanshu Kotak was pleased to see Ravindra Jadeja in the training sessions ahead of their next match and cleared that his presence will help the team strategize better. “He (Jadeja) has been training with us for the last couple of days, and it is a good thing for the team to have him around. This home game against Jammu and Kashmir is crucial. We have got off to a good start and it is important to maintain that momentum. Jadeja comes with vast experience and that will help us do better at home,” he told Sportstar.

He also believed that the morale of the side was good after registering a win over Haryana and was satisfied with the preparations of the team. “The preparation is good for the second match. A bit of fine-tuning was required here and there, and we have done it. “We have a settled side, and the presence of Jadeja and Pujara will help us get the edge in the early stages of the tournament. That’s something we are looking forward to,” Kotak added.
