After being handed a one match suspension, Indian all rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is all set to miss the Third Test against Sri Lanka at Pallekele, was seen having long chats with head coach Ravi Shastri, as the rest of the team enjoyed a day off post India’s thumping victory over Sri Lanka in the Colombo Test. The newly crowned number 1 all rounder in Test gained another demerit point after a chucked the ball towards Pushpakumara who was placed well at the crease.

Jadeja previously collected few demerit points in the series against New Zealand as he was found guilty of ‘running in and damaging the protected area of the pitch’ in the third Test at Indore last October. The left hander has had a forgetful past when it comes to discipline in Test Cricket. During India’s tour to England, Jadeja was involved in an altercation with Engish paceman James Anderson in the pavilion.

With the ban on Ravindra Jadeja, who claimed seven wickets and scored an unbeaten 70 in the Colombo Test to receive the man of the match accolade, doors now open for Kuldeep Yadav, who made a sensational debut against Australia at Dharamsala back in March. India has already sealed the series as they lead by a margin of 2-0. Indians will now look at a whitewash in an away tour, which the men in blue have been devoid of for a while now.

Even though Jadeja lost 50% of his match fees, he edged past Bangladesh’s quintessential all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to claim the number 1 spot in Tests. Although not much is known about what transpired between Jadeja and Shastri during the long discussion, the latter has had the reputation for being acknowledged as a motivator during tough times. During the previous tour to Sri Lanka, Ishant Sharma was handed over a one match ban for making inappropriate gestures to Dammika Prasad.
