Preparations have been in full swing for the Men in Blue for the high voltage clash on Sunday against Pakistan. There have been reports that mother nature might play spoilsport regarding the fact that the match is played in Edgbaston, the same venue where the match between Australia and New Zealand was washed out on Friday.

To go along with that, the constant reminders of the strife between captain Virat Kohli and coach Kumble haven’t helped either. But these factors haven’t dampened the spirit of the Indian team as they have been going full throttle preparing for the contest in the nets.

Jadeja turns pacer

Pakistan has always been produced some outstanding fast bowlers. The case is no different come Sunday when they will field the services of Mohammad Amir, Rahat Ali and Wahab Riaz. All three bowl at extremely good pace. All the three are left armer and that creates a different line which the Indian team is not used to, given the fact that they do not have a left arm fast bowler in the ranks.

To combat the situation, Virat Kohli asked Ravindra Jadeja to bowl at him at pace trying to mimic the line which Amir will try to target him with on Sunday. Jadeja was also seen bowling the same line to MS Dhoni.

This is not the first time the Indian team has resorted to different methods. During the 2015 World Cup, prior to the match between India and Pakistan, the Indian batsmen were seen receiving throw downs from bowlers standing on chairs so as to mimic the height of Mohammad Irfan who was in the Pakistan team back then.

The unconventional methods are a clear indication of the fact Team India is not taking the Pakistan team lightly. Amir had gotten the better of the Indian batsmen when they met during the Asia Cup last year when he rattled the top order when he claimed Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Ajinkya Rahane successively. On Sunday, it remains to be seen if these methods will come to fruition for Virat & Co.
