With the way the Lankan batters approached the game in the second innings, Team India would not have hoped to wrap up the match as early as they did on the 4th day. Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja was the key to India‘s victory in the match. That after the visitors posted 622 runs in less than two days of the match. Sri Lanka couldn’t get over that despite batting twice and the Indians pocketed the series.

It was expected that the spin-twin would be crucial in the Test series against Sri Lanka after their magical run in the home season at home. However, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were slow to the party in the first Test, at Colombo. While Ashwin picked a fifer in the first innings of the Colombo Test, Jadeja started to weave his magic on Day 4 turning past the edge and beating the batsmen more often than it was hit by the bat.

He scored a 70-run knock in India’s only innings and stitched partnerships with the lower order to take the total beyond 600. In the last inning he picked up a five-wicket haul breaking past the Lankan resistance. That pitched him ahead of the centurions and everyone else to win the Man of the Match.

Following the impressive innings victory he tweeted- “More Dreams is not what you see in sleep is the thing which doesn’t let you sleep #hardwork #MOMtrophy”

Bad news, following the victory:

However, Jaddu and the team received a bad news after the end of the match as the left-arm spinner is suspended from the final game of the series, due to the incident where he threw the ball back at the batsman. The on-field umpires deemed the throw dangerous as it narrowly missed Dimuth Karunaratne.
