With the much awaited 10th edition of Indian Premier League just around the corner, the No.1 Test bowler in the world Ravindra Jadeja has conceded that he is fine tuning his fielding skills ahead of the long T20 season. He is undoubtedly the best fielder among the current crop of Indian cricketers and with the buzz surrounding the IPL it was time for the acrobatic fielder to sharpen his skills further.

He replied to a tweet from Harsha Bhogle where the popular journalist and writer wrote: “With T20 round the corner, players everywhere will be hard at work sharpening their fielding skills.” Fielding is certainly a major aspect of the game more so in the shortest format where each and every runs saved play a crucial role in the outcome of the match.

Jadeja has been an outstanding fielder over the years for India and he has only improved and fine-tuned his skills with time. He has the best throwing arm in the world at the moment and has the ability to pluck some stunning catches out of nowhere. He makes a difficult catch look simple and it is only due to exceptional fitness level.

The left-arm spinner has been an exceptional bowler for India in the long home season and has gone on to replace his partner Ravichandran Ashwin in the top of the ICC Test rankings for bowlers. Even in the ongoing Test series against Australia he has been the standout bowler for the home team and has provided Virat Kohli with the much-needed breakthroughs at crucial junctures of the game.

Bhogle who is a popular face in the media and the cricket industry was removed from the commentary panel of BCCI after he was accused of praising the opposition players rather than the Men in Blue. Amitabh Bachchan took to his twitter handle and wrote he was pretty disappointed with Indian commentators always speaking more of opponent players rather than praising Team India.

MS Dhoni who was India’s captain at that time also retweeted what Bachchan said. He was later removed from the commentary panel and hasn’t returned ever since.
