Rayudu ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour with an injury, Samson to fly in as replacement: After a good couple of games, Indian middle order batsman Ambati Rayudu suffered an injury to his right quadriceps muscles which will keep him away from the game at least for a couple of weeks, the BCCI has therefore decided to call Kerala wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson as the replacement for Rayudu.

He sustained the injury during India’s 62 runs victory in the 2^nd ODI on Sunday.  Rayudu has thus far scored 165 in the two games, which includes a Man of the Match winning performance in the 1^st ODI where he struck an unbeaten 142; his 41 runs in the 2^nd ODI were crucial for India as they reached 271 in 50-overs.

It will be interesting to see if Samson gets a game or will another youngster Manish Pandey who is already with the team and warming the benches for the last couple of games, makes it to the Playing XI in Rayudu’s place.

Ambati Rayudu ruled out of rest of the India’s tour of Zimbabwe, Sanju Samson to join the team as replacement.

The BCCI medical team confirms that Ambati Rayudu has been ruled out of the remaining part of the India’s tour of Zimbabwe due to an injury he has sustained while playing the 2nd ODI. Rayudu has pulled his right quadriceps muscles and will require 2 to 3 weeks of rehabilitation.

The All India senior selection committee has named Sanju Samson as Rayudu’s replacement for the rest of the tour.
