After all the deliberations and discussions, the Indian Premier League (2020) is finally happening in the UAE. One by one, the teams are grouping up in Dubai. The players will be quarantined for a few days before they enter the bio-secure bubble. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad flew from Bengaluru to Dubai on 21 August 2020. Skipper Virat Kohli checked in a few hours later as he chartered a flight directly out of Mumbai.

Now, the latest update is that the South African players have also joined in. The likes of AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, and Chris Morris have reached the UAE to join the RCB set-up. Yesterday, the official handle of RCB shared a short video of Chris Morris and AB de Villiers. The caption of this post stated that they were on their way. Now, after the troika reached Dubai, the franchise put up another video.

‘I’m very excited and very happy to be here’

The video showed a short glimpse of the players travelling to the hotel from the airport. On arrival, AB de Villiers said: “I’m very excited and very happy to be here. The travelling was a bit different to normal but we made it here with our South African friends. And, we are very happy to be back with the RCB family and looking forward to this here.” Mr. 360 even added that he is looking forward to his COVID-19 test.

“It is obviously pretty good. It’s been quite a while since we played the game we love. So, very chuffed, very excited to get going. A little bit nervous too, to be honest,” said Chris Morris. Dale Steyn added to his statement saying that it is going to be interesting to be playing in the heat.

“We have got here like three in the morning and it is steaming outside. Looking forward to what it’s going to be like in a couple of weeks,” the Steyn gun added. Later in the video, AB de Villiers expressed his excitement and said that he is looking forward to getting back together with everyone.
