Arguably the most popular side of the IPL, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have slashed the ticket rates at their home ground the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in a bid to win back the spectators. The 2016 edition of the IPL has seen sparse crowds as compared to the massive full houses in the previous editions.

Chinnaswamy Stadium has a capacity of 32,000 but has been witnessing empty seats this season. Experts believe that the IPL is being hosted right after the World Cup, and thus, the crowds have been overdosed with cricket action.

In a bid to fill up the stands, the home side has taken a few measures to ensure the fans keep coming to support the men in black and red. Interestingly, the ticket prices at the matches scheduled in Bengaluru were the highest. RCB have 5 home games remaining to be played in Bengaluru.

Two of the premium stands at the stadium will see a considerable cut in the prices. Tickets in the D-Corporate and Fan Terrace-N stands that earlier cost Rs 6,000-Rs 7,000 will now cost between Rs 2,000 and Rs 4,000 depending on whether they are played on a weekday or a weekend, an RCB spokesperson told TOI. The D-Corporate stand will now be a non-hospitality stand with different stalls of fast foods and beverages being served. The other stand, the Fan Terrace stand will still be the hospitality stand and cater unlimited food, beverages, and alcoholic drinks as well.

RCB have played just 2 home games in this season so far, having won one and lost the another. They won their opening game of the season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad comfortably while they had to suffer a loss at the hands of the Delhi Daredevils. Their next home game is scheduled to be played on May 2 against the 2014 IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders.
