Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) got defeated by Lucknow Super Giants by a margin of just one wicket in Bangalore in IPL 2023. But the scores were settled as the Royal Challengers beat the Super Giants by 18 runs in the reverse fixture in Lucknow.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had a good last three seasons to remember as they progressed to playoffs on all occasions, but never won the title. RCB have suffered many injuries and replacement in this edition. Michael Bracewell has been called to RCB as replacement for Will Jacks. Addition of Bracewell will see three spin-bowling overseas all-rounders in the team along with Maxwell and Hasaranga. They would look to continue the good run with little more caution in this edition.
Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, had a good debut season to remember, as they won nine out of fourteen games and were placed third in the table despite sharing equal number of wins with Rajasthan Royals, courtesy of having lesser ne run-rate. They failed to go past eliminator as they lost against RCB by close margin of 14 runs. KL Rahul enjoyed the season by ending as the second highest run-getter in the tournament. He along with Quinton de Kock registered a record 210-run partnership for the first-wicket against KKR. KL Rahul-led Lucknow would look to continue their winning run in the 2023 edition.
