Talking in a general view, the 18^th match of IPL 2022 will be a contest between five-time champions and a team that is yet struggling for its maiden IPL title, but their fortunes this season have been the opposite. Mighty Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns with each other at the MCA Stadium, Pune wherein RCB will eye their third victory in the season while MI will just hope and pray to open their account.

Talking of Mumbai Indians, the boxes just don’t seem to be ticking for them this season as they have succumbed to back-to-back losses. With the absence of Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah is seen struggling to have perfect support from the other end, whereas batters as a unit have also failed to click. Rohit Sharma not scoring brisk runs and giving them flying starts is also denting their chances big time. In their last game, they almost seemed in the winning position in the middle before Pat Cummins’ furious hitting snatched the game from them.

Talking of RCB, they have won two out of their three games played so far and seem to be in fine rhythm after defeating Rajasthan in their last encounter. Faf du Plessis, as their new skipper, is working well for them with the Protean speaking with the bat and also managing his side well. Dinesh Karthik has also turned out to be another shining prospect in their side after the mega auction, who is scoring runs for fun this season.

MCA, Pune is a conducive venue for scoring runs and assistance to bowlers has also been seen on the ground. The temperature will hover around 23 degrees C at night with only five percent chances of rain. However, 65 % humidity is likely on the match day. Chasing teams have a better record here and hence the toss-winning skipper would choose to bowl first.
