Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals 2020: Day 2- Round-up

The Red Bull Campus Cricket 2020 is on will with full vigour and enthusiasm in the city of Lucknow. The second league day of the national finals saw events across Jaipuriya Cricket Ground and Ekana International Stadium Lucknow. The day two saw eight famed colleges across the country putting their best foot forward to seal their ways for semi-finals and finals. The semi-finals and final events will see the light of the day on 3rd and 4th December.

The first match took place between DAV College Jalandhar and Loyola College Chennai. After being invited to bat first, DAV College came up with a fierce batting show to put massive 191 runs on the board. The big target came on the back of a stunning knock by Aditya Pratap (83 of 52). While chasing the target, Chennai got wrapped up on 168 runs, handing over a victory to Jalandhar by 23 runs. Aditya was adjudged as player of the match, undoubtedly.

The second match took place between New LJ College Ahmedabad and SOA University Bhubaneshwar. With Ahmedabad showing with willows first, they posted reasonable 156 runs on the board. Rahul Ahuja’s innings of 71 runs became the very basis of their score. Bhubaneshwar got wrapped up just 122 runs, and the opponents won by 34 runs. Rahul Ahuja was named as the player of the match for his sheer heroics with the bat (71 off 51).

The third match saw Jain University Bangalore and SS Jain Subodh College Jaipur locking horns with each other. Jaipur posted a hefty target of 183 runs while they batted first and what followed next was completely a one-sided affair. Bangalore were reduced to 52/10 in 13.1 overs, and Jaipur saw the face of victory by huge 131 runs. Ashish Indoria was named as the player of the match for his sheer magic with the ball as he conceded nine runs to pick six wickets.

The fourth match of the day saw YBN College Ranchi and DAVV University Indore up against each other. After electing to bat first, DAVV Indore registered 148/5 in their quota of 20 overs. Ranchi got bundled up on just 110 runs and handed the opponent victory by 38 runs. Pawan Nirwani became the flag bearer of Indore’s batting set up as he played an unbeaten knock of 63 runs of 41 deliveries. He was named as the player of the match as he led his team home.
