Red Bull Campus Cricket World Final kicked off in Dubai; Team India Qualifies for the playoffs
South Africa and Pakistan also qualified for playoffs.

India, 30th October 2019: The United Arab Emirates has been chosen as the host country of this year’s World Finals of Red Bull Campus Cricket. Scheduled to take place between 27 October and 2 November 2019, the popular competition – which is the only global college cricket tournament in the world – offers aspiring student cricketers a platform to play an international professional T20 tournament. 7 teams from across the globe are part of the World Finals. The winners of their respective countries are divided into two groups- Group A and Group B.
352 colleges across 30 cities in India competed for the national championship of Red Bull Campus Cricket 2019.DAV College Chandigarh team beat Hindustan College Chennai team in an exciting low scoring final to emerge the India Champions of the prestigious T20 tournament. They are now representing Team India at the World Final in Dubai.
DAV Chandigarh from India was pitted against 3 other teams in Group A i.e. ULA Bangladesh, MCC University Leeds Bradford and the University of Pretoria from South Africa. The top cricketing college from India has made a fine start to the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Final 2019 so far in Dubai, after winning both their games against ULA Bangladesh and MCC University Leeds Bradford from England and qualifying for the playoffs. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and hosts UAE were slotted in Group B.
South Africa and Pakistan also qualified for playoffs
As things stand in Group A, South Africa’s University of Pretoria are on top with two wins in two games with a higher net run rate of 3.925. DAV Chandigarh from India is second with two wins as well with a net run rate of 3.35. MCC University Leeds and ULA Bangladesh are in third and fourth position respectively as they are yet to get off the mark in the tournament.
South Africa and India have both qualified for the playoffs after winning both their games and will now battle it out for the top spot in their upcoming game. In Group B, Pakistan has qualified for the playoffs after beating Sri Lanka and UAE, while Sri Lanka were the second team to qualify for the playoffs after they beat UAE by 66 runs.
Final result (Match 1): DAV Chandigarh beat ULA Bangladesh by 101 runs
Final result (Match 2) DAV Chandigarh beat MCC University Leeds Bradford, England by 33 runs.
