All eyes would be on the Mumbai Indians versus Delhi Capitals clash on Saturday (May 21) when the two teams lock horns at the Wankhede Stadium, where the top four teams in the playoffs will be finally confirmed. While DC’s fate is in their own hands as a victory would book their place in the top 4, RCB’s fate lies in the hands of the five-time champions as Mumbai’s victory would mean RCB’s qualification.

Ahead of the much-anticipated game, the Bangalore-based franchise has shown support towards the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians by changing their Twitter profile picture’s color to Blue. The team’s official color is red, but as Mumbai’s victory in their final fixture of the league stage matters the most to RCB right now, they’ve put their logo on a blue background.

They also added “#RedTurnsBlue” below the team’s logo to showcase their backing for the Mumbai Indians, and also their desire to qualify for the playoffs. Apart from changing their profile picture on Twitter, RCB also crafted a special postcard for Mumbai and shared it on the platform that read:

“To, Mumbai Indians,

Hey @MIPaltan, the entire RCB team will cheer for you like #OneFamily, you go #PlayBold against DC!

From: RCB

#RedTurnsBlue”

RCB has 16 points from the 14 games played, and DC has 14 points from the 13 games played with one final match remaining. Though DC’s victory would bring them to an equal stage as compared to RCB, they’ll take the fourth spot in the points table because of a better NRR. Mumbai Indians are placed at the bottom of the points table, and they will surely look to end their dismal campaign on a high note. DC players would be at their best because this game is their only chance to end the season successfully.

GT, RR, and LSG have qualified for the playoffs

After Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants qualified, the Rajasthan Royals ensured their place in the top two by winning against the Chennai Super Kings on May 20. They will now face the top-placed Titans in the first qualifier. The winner of the GT vs RR clash would see through to the finale, whereas the losing team would get another opportunity for redemption in the second eliminator.
