He retired from international cricket in May this year but had cleared that he will be playing the game in different leagues.

He is currently enjoying the break from the game and is upbeat about playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) next year. De Villiers will also be available for his domestic team Titans and is looking forward to mentor the youngsters while being part of the squad.

The Twitter handle of the UAE T20X revealed the news in a puzzling manner which read, “We’re bringing you closer to one of cricket’s biggest stars REAL SOON He’s the record holder for the fastest 50, 100, and 150 in ODIs. The inaugural edition of the UAE T20 league will commence December 19 and will be played until January 11. A total of 24 matches will take place in  Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. According to ECB, the new tournament aims to be the most innovative T20 competition in the world.

Each of the five teams will consist of 16 players in the squad including six international star players, two emerging players from ICC full member countries, three from ICC associate members, two juniors and three UAE cricketers.
