Abraham Benjamin de Villiers is arguably the most destructive batsman, the world has ever seen, in every format of the game. He possesses the ability to take bowling attacks to the cleaners with sheer disdain, manufacturing strokes with class and authority. In the T20 format, he has a strike rate of 144.25, which manifests the potentiality of the individual. The Pretoria-born cricketer is a hot prospect for any T20 side as he represents T20 teams in domestic tournaments across the globe.

The belligerent batsman might now play in the recently launched T10 Cricket League (TCL), scheduled to take place from December 14 to 17. The organisers of the newly launched leagued are in talks with the South African middle order batsman and other big names in world cricket.

“Eager to sign up a few modern-day superstars, the board member added that they are trying to get AB de Villiers for the league. There will be a gap between the TCL and Big Bash, so even Aussie players might be available to participate,” Parvez Khan, one of the board members of the T10 Cricket League, told Sportstarlive.

The tournament was scheduled to be staged from December 21 to 24. However the dates were clashing with the Big Bash League and Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand, which could have led to big players missing out from participating in the tournament.

“The dates were clashing with the Big Bash League (BBL) and also with Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand. So, their players would not have been available. That’s why we thought of changing it. PCB suggested to look into the possibility of shifting the dates. This will help us have a better player pool,”- the board member added.
