Ambati Rayudu has been in sensational form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He has played some excellent knocks at the top of the order for his team so far and is currently the highest run-getter of the tournament. Even the skipper MS Dhoni has rated him so highly and was in awe of his batting after he led his team to the score of 180 from a hopeless position against Sunrisers. However, the cricketer is set to make India comeback for the upcoming England tour.

Rayudu has so far amassed 283 runs in 6 outings at an amazing strike-rate of 158.99 and a jaw-dropping average of 47.17. He has shown the much-needed consistency and the way he is hitting the ball has been the best in his career. Nevertheless, he has also proved that he is flexible enough to bat anywhere in the line-up for his team and has scored runs.

MSK Prasad hints

MSK Prasad, the chairman of the national selection committee was amazed by his current form and he was happy for him. “I am excited about his form. He has come out all guns blazing and gives us a few more options,” he said while speaking to Times of India on Thursday and hinted on his national comeback soon for the upcoming tour. Even the former cricketer turned commentator L Sivaramakrishnan believed that he should be considered in the shorter formats at the highest level.

“I totally agree that Rayudu should get into the Indian team on his current form. He has shown great skills and form. He should certainly be considered for the shorter formats,” said after witnessing his knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. India’ tour to England is set to begin on July 1 with the three-match T20I series.
