Kedar Jadhav is all set to undergo a surgery on his hamstring and will fly to Australia soon. He suffered an injury during the opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He was soon ruled out fo the tournament then and was not picked in the limited overs India squad for the upcoming England tour as well. However, Jadhav’s comeback date to the international cricket is not known and he would like to hit the straps with World Cup looming next year.

Jadhav has been prone to injuries of late ever since he has made it to Team India. He was also injured during the home series against Sri Lanka and got fit in time for South Africa tour. After returning from the rainbow nation, he didn’t feature for Maharashtra in Vijay Hazare Trophy and spent time in National Cricket Academy (NCA). Unfortunately, he pulled his hamstring in the tournament opener last month and was again sidelined.

Physio to accompany Jadhav

According to the reports in Mirror, Kedar Jadhav will be accompanied by the physio of Team India, Patrick Farhart in Australia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will pay for Jadhav’s surgery according to the rules. He will also get the compensation from the board for missing almost the whole season of the IPL.

An injury to Jadhav is a blow to the Men in Blue as far as their ambitions in the next year’s World Cup is concerned. He was being groomed as the finisher and was also bowling a bit in the middle overs which used to provide a bit of relief to his captain. But India will not have the luxury now in the upcoming England tour and will surely miss Jadhav. The Maharashtra-born player will now be eyeing to get fit before the Asia Cup which is scheduled to be played in the month of September.
