'Respect their privacy' - Fans slam paparazzi for clicking Vamika's pictures at Mumbai airport

Back in January 2021, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma became proud parents to a baby girl. Kohli took paternal leave from the Australia tour to be with his pregnant wife and for the decision to do so, he was greeted with mixed reactions from the netizens and experts. The couple tied the knots way back in December 2017 after dating for quite a few years.

About raising their child, Vamika, Kohli, and Anushka have, repeatedly, asked the media to maintain some distance. The power couple urged the media to avoid any kind of content on their child and asked them to respect their privacy. Immediately after Vamika was born, Kohli and Anushka released a note, asking the paparazzi to stay away from their daughter.

“Hi, thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support,“ they wrote.

“While we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child. We know that you will understand where we are coming from and we thank you for the same,” they added.

Back in May, the 32-year-old Kohli talked about not exposing their child to social media after a fan asked for a glimpse of Vamika.

“Vamika is another name for Goddess Durga. No, we have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice,” Kohli had said.

In the meantime, on June 2, Kohli’s India left for England for the World Test Championship final and the five-match Test series against the Brits. Virat was also accompanied by Anushka and Vamika, who was seen asleep in her mother’s arms.

However, the paps, somehow, managed to click pictures. Subsequently, the netizens on social media slammed them for not respecting Kohli and Anushka’s privacy.
