The fitness challenge initiated by Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has become a rage on social media, with eminent men and women actively taking part in it. Young Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant became the latest addition to the list of participants of the challenge. Pant, however, had an unconventional way of meeting the challenge.
As a part of the initiative to develop India into a healthier and fitter nation, the country’s sports minister had taken the step of publicly challenging eminent players and celebrities on the social media to post videos of their fitness regime. These videos, in turn, are expected to effectively inspire others to switch to a healthier lifestyle.
Rishabh Pant takes up fitness challenge
Amongst the first few to take up the challenge was the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, who posted a video of his training regime at the gym. The 29-year-old, who is widely known to be dedicated to fitness, challenged his wife Anushka Sharma, the country’s PM Narendra Modi and former Indian skipper MS Dhoni to take part in the challenge.
Pant, who had a terrific run at the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) with 684 runs from 14 matches including a hundred and five half-centuries for the Delhi Daredevils (DD), was challenged by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Mandeep Singh.
While most celebrities have posted videos of their gym workout sessions, Pant chose to post a video of a trek that he embarked on after this year’s IPL. The youngster, himself, called it ‘different’ but claimed that it helps him in keeping himself fit.
Here’s what Rishabh Pant posted:
I accept your challenge @mandeeps12 @ParthJindal11
Great initiative by @Ra_THORe sir. Here's my video may be different but it helps me in keeping myself fit#humfitohindiafit #fitnesschallenge I further challenge @PrithviShaw @RandeepHooda @SakshiPant7 pic.twitter.com/qWLxVnecds

Amongst the long list of names to have taken up the fitness challenge are cricketer Suresh Raina, badminton champion Saina Nehwal and actor Hrithik Roshan. Each of them performed their workout routine on camera and posted the video on social media with the hashtags #humfittohindiafit and #fitnesschallenge, while challenging more people to be a part of the initiative.
