Rishabh Pant had a great outing this year in the IPL. Playing for Delhi Daredevils, Pant recorded 366 runs in 14 innings at 26.14. What stood out for Pant was his strike rate of 165.61 this season where he hit 24 sixes as well. His efforts, though, could not help qualify Daredevils for the playoffs as they finished the season at the 6th position in the points table.

The standout innings this year was a 43-ball 97 for Pant where he helped Delhi chase a stiff 209 with utmost ease as the target was knocked off with 15 balls to spare. The explosive left-hander sewed a magnificent 143-run stand for the 2nd wicket with fellow young batsman Sanju Samson. 19-year old Pant was highly praised in the cricketing circles for turning up to play the IPL despite losing his father a couple of days ahead from the start of the IPL. He came into play Delhi’s first game, against RCB, after performing the last rites of his father and played a great hand of 57. The knock showed the mental strength and professionalism of this talented southpaw.

The IPL for DD is over now and Pant was seen gifting himself a new car. The Delhi dasher’s fan club uploaded a picture of Pant posing with his new Mercedes as the teenage batsman became another umpteenth cricketer to own a luxury car.

Congratulations for a new car ?? @sakshi.pant

Terrific Ranji season

Pant made his IPL debut for Zaheer Khan led Daredevils last year and immediately impressed all. He had a breakthrough Ranji Trophy season last season as he went on to amass 972 runs in 12 innings which included a career-best 308 as well as a 48-ball hundred, the quickest century in the history of Ranji Trophy. A brilliant season culminated into a national call-up.

Pant even made his debut in the final T20 against England earlier this year. The wicket-keeper batsman with his good showing in the last 12 months has ensured that he is the one for the future.
