Get ready to turn back the clock and take a trip to nostalgia. Various legends from the cricketing world are going to take the field once again. The much-awaited Road Safety World Series 2020 is finally all set to get underway.

A few weeks back, there was a glimpse of a few legends. The Bushfire appeal game brought some of the biggest cricketing stars from Australia and other parts of the world together for a good cause and a charity game. We’ve seen quite a few such games and now, we have another such tournament.

There’s been a big build-up to the Road Safety World Series T20 2020. Legends from India, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies will be in action as the organisers try to create awareness about road safety through this tournament. The Indian Legends square off against the West Indian Legends in the first game of the tournament.

There are quite a few big names in this line-up. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan and the list will go on and on. On the other hand, West Indies have Brian Lara leading the side. Daren Ganga, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Carl Hooper will be the big players alongside Lara in the batting department while Tino Best, Samuel Badree and Suleiman Benn will look after the bowling attack. It promises to be a cracking contest with this tipped as India’s batting against West Indies’ bowling.

Team Combinations

India Legends:

India seem to have a power packed batting line-up. The Sachin-Sehwag pair will be reunited at the top of the order. The middle-order shows some great solidity as well with the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Mohammed Kaif and Sanjay Bangar present in the line-up. With the big names in the batting department, the bowling might seem thin. But they do have Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan who can be effective. Moreover, Manpreet Gony can be an impact player with both bat and ball.

Probable XI: Sachin Tendulkar (C), Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Sanjay Bangar, Mohammad Kaif, Sameer Dighe (WK), Irfan Pathan, Manpreet Gony, Munaf Patel/Sairaj Bahutule, Pragyan Ojha, Zaheer Khan.

West Indies Legends

Daren Ganga is the star at the top of the order but it’s the middle order where West Indies’ strength lies. They have a solid middle-order core where Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Carl Hooper will aim to make their presence felt. Tino Best is likely to lead the pace attack with Samuel Badree and Suleiman Benn providing some quality spin options.

Probable XI: Daren Ganga, Danza Hyatt, Brian Lara (C), Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Carl Hooper, Ricardo Powell, Ridley Jacobs (WK), Samuel Badree, Suleiman Benn, Tino Best, Pedro Collins.

Focus will be on

Sachin Tendulkar [India Legends] – There’s been a lot of talk around Sachin Tendulkar’s batting. He batted for one over in the Bushfire game during the break between the two innings. The master played some very good strokes and was looking good in the nets as well. Thus, there is absolutely no doubt that Tendulkar will be one to watch out for.

Brian Lara [West Indies Legends] – The way Brian Lara was batting in that Bushfire appeal game, the bowlers need to be wary of him. He’s timing the ball sweetly and has been batting really well. He will be a key man for the West Indies Legends.
