Over the past few years, cricket matches all over the globe have been organised for a variety of causes, from promoting the sport to raising awareness for a certain thing. And, the most recent example of this was the Bushfire Cricket Bash. In that match, all the legendary names took the field, from Ricky Ponting to Wasim Akram came together to play a 10-over aside match to collect funds for the victims of the Australian Bushfires. The total amount of money collected was 7.7 million AUD and showed how a sport can contribute to a great cause.
Bringing such an endeavour to India, this time to spread awareness regarding road safety, a number of star players will be coming out to be a part of the ‘Road Safety World Series’. The tournament, which will see participation from teams from India, Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and West Indies, will have players, for whom, anyone who has seen the slightest bit of the sport would flock to the stadium.
