Dolphins all-rounder Rob Frylinck is certainly going through a happy phase in life. The bowler was gifted with the birth of his first child last week and now he finds himself in front of another big news. The 32-year-old got a call up to feature for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the 5th season of the Caribbean Premier League.

The South African will travel to the West Indies on Saturday and he seems excited as ever. He mentioned that he was looking forward to something like this from a very long time and he wasted no time in grabbing the opportunity. The fast bowler was also a part of Indian Premier League side Delhi Daredevils and is eager to play alongside the big names from other countries.

What Frylinck had to say:

“I have been waiting for something like this for ages,” an excited Frylinck mentioned.

“I have put in some good performances in limited overs cricket for a while and when I got the call up I was quick to take the opportunity.” he added.

“To be involved in an international tournament is one of the most exciting things for me and to play and mix with some of the best players in the world will be great for me.” “When you mix with these sorts of players your game can only improve and hopefully I can bring that back to the Dolphins before the start of next season,” he added.

Frylinck will have some major names in his team in the form of former Dolphin team mate Dwayne Bravo, Kiwi legend Brendon McCullum and present New Zealand powerhouse, Colin Munro.

“It’s always exciting when you go to a new place and with all of this happening so quickly it still hasn’t quite sunk in!” said Munro.

Dolphins coach Grant Morgan showered praise on Frylinck as he welcomed the big guy into the team. “I am really happy for Rob, he definitely deserves this!” Morgan commented.

“He’s been an absolute war horse for us and played every game of last season and produced some great moments for us – he’s a real match winner.” added Morgan.
