Of late, things have been falling in place for India’s batting star Rohit Sharma. His career on the field is going strong and the same can be said about his life off the field too. India’s limited-overs vice-captain and his wife Ritika Sajdeh, on Sunday, welcomed the first child into their life – a baby girl.

The news was confirmed by Seema Khan on Instagram. Seema, who is Ritika’s cousin and the wife of Bollywood actor Sohail Khan, posted an Instagram story on Sunday (December 30) night, confirming that she has become a Masi. Rohit and Ritika’s loves-story is nothing less than a typical Bollywood movie. It all started on a professional note as Ritika was a sports event manager and she used to take care of Rohit’s cricket engagements. However, things soon took a turn for the better as both of them developed a strong friendship.

The friendship turned into love and after dating each other for six years, Rohit proposed to Ritika. She, of course, accepted the proposal and both tied the knot in December 2015. Earlier this month, the two completed three years of being happily married.

Rohit makes his mark in Tests

Rohit has finally done justice to the team management’s faith by playing an impressive knock in the recently-concluded third Test against Australia. Unlike being a force to reckon with in limited-overs cricket, the right-hander has not even managed to cement his place in the Test side so far. He was dropped from the team after the horror show in South Africa earlier this year but managed to earn a recall for the ongoing series after his impressive outings in coloured clothing.

His comeback to the Test eleven, however, was not a memorable one as he could manage only 37 and a duck before missing the second Test due to an injury. However, he scored an impressive 63 in the Melbourne Test as India beat the hosts by 137 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
