Team India’s tour of South Africa is all set to commence from Saturday. The preparations in the Indian camp have been in full swing. Ahead of the first Test in Cape Town, the Indian players have been practising hard during the training session. This was portrayed by Rohit Sharma in a video posted by the BCCI on social media.

The Indian cricketer tried to provide a view ‘behind the scenes’. As a result of rains, the Indian team was forced to conduct an indoor net session. As Rohit waited for his turn to bat in the nets, he gave an insight on how the training session was being conducted.

Rohit Sharma took a tour of the net session. He pointed out at Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul and skipper Virat Kohli having a go at the nets. Meanwhile, he, Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay were to take over once the trio moved out. He further described how the support staff was all riled up into the preparations.

“We’ve got wonderful coaches here who are looking after the proceedings. Sridhar, Sanjay Bangar, Raghu, Ravi Shastri, all have been pre occupied in the nets,” Rohit said.

As the camera focused on Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun having a chat with Murali Vijay, Rohit cheekily described, “I don’t know what Vijay is doing there. I’m sure he’s looking for some bowling tips which might be very suitable here (hinting at the South African conditions).”

Ravichandran Ashwin could also be sighted bowling in the nets. The opener explained how the team was making the most out of the facilities at their behest. He concluded by wishing all the fans a great 2018 on behalf of the Indian team.

The BCCI tweeted:

“VIDEO: Inside Team India’s indoor nets session with The Hitman.

The training session on Day 2 of India’s tour to South Africa shifted indoors and we had @ImRo45 giving us an insider’s account. #SAvIND”
