Ace Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah turned 24 on December 6 this year. The birthday wishes came in flooding from all corners of the cricket world for the rising pace bowling sensation. The birthday tweet that caught the attention of many was that of Bumrah’s IPL and Indian teammate Rohit Sharma. In the birthday tweet, Rohit wrote something that could decipher out to have many meanings.

Rohit Sharma shared the birthday message and quoted that Jasprit Bumrah should remember that blue will always be his color. He also had a wink emoji along with the message to indicate some internal discussions the two players are potentially having these days. Interestingly, on the same day, the IPL Governing Council announced the rules for the player retention policies for the upcoming IPL auctions.

The tweet by Sharma is a good indicator that the Mumbai Indians are likely to retain Bumrah in their team as a part of the pre-auction retention. Bumrah is one of the core members of the Mumbai Indians camp. And with Lasith Malinga losing his charm with the ball, it is very much likely that Bumrah will be retained as the bowler by the team owners.

“Blue is your colour mate, you know what I mean ? have a great birthday @Jaspritbumrah93,” tweeted Rohit Sharma.

Bumrah’s reply

The pace bowler was quick to reply back to the tweet. He thanked Rohit for his good wishes. He also revealed that he pretty much understood what Rohit indicated in his tweet. Bumrah is having a great time in international cricket at the moment. He recently received his maiden call up to the Test team for the South Africa tour. Having succeeded in the shorter formats, the pacer would now aim to cement his spot in the Test team.

“Haha yes I know what you mean? thank you Mr Sharma,” responded Jasprit Bumrah.
