Rohit Sharma slammed his third century in the ongoing Test series against South Africa. After opting to bat first, India lost quick wickets and were left reeling at 39/3 at one stage. But Rohit and Ajinkya Rahane have helped them recover well with the former looking dangerous to take the game away from the opposition. However, more than his century, Rohit’s reaction to the ball before getting to the three-figure mark is hogging the limelight.

The incident took place in the 45th over of the innings when the clouds opened up with the Indian opener firmly in the 90s. To be precise, Rohit was on 95 when the drizzle started and the groundsmen set themselves up to bring the covers. He took the single off the second ball of the over to reach 95 and at the same time, the rain started coming down.

Rohit Sharma was visibly frustrated with it and while standing at the non-striker’s end, he shouted at the rain saying, “Not now not now.” It was clear that he was not willing to wait for more to reach his century. And duly reached the milestone with a huge six over long-off off Dane Piedt’s bowling. There were smiles all around when he reached his 100 but the video of Rohit shouting at the rain is going viral at the moment.

Here’s the video:

Rohit Sharma makes light work of Dane Piedt

Dane Piedt has become Rohit Sharma’s bunny in this series. The opening batsman started scoring runs at pace as soon as the off-spinner was introduced into the attack. He had smacked Piedt for a lot of runs in the first Test in Visakhapatnam as well and the procession continued in this game too. Keshav Maharaj’s injury has paved way for Piedt’s inclusion but the spinner is having a forgettable India tour.

As far as the match is concerned, Ajinkya Rahane is also enjoying his stay in the middle with Rohit Sharma. The duo has already added more than 150 runs and are piling on the runs much like how India did in the first couple of Tests. South Africa enjoyed bowling in the first session where kept the batsmen on the tenterhooks. But they couldn’t control the run-flow in the second session and are staring down the barrel yet again.
