It is believed that in nail-biting finishes, a brilliant field work can do wonders and shift the momentum to your side. India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma did something similar. India ended on the winning side in what turned out to be a close contest against New Zealand in the third and final T20I between the two sides. The decider was delayed due to rain and subsequent wet outfield, but the cricket lovers of Thiruvananthapuram got a taste of the shortest format of the game by witnessing an 8-over-a-side contest.

Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision looked a wise one as the hosts started to lose wickets early on. India managed to score mere 67/5 in eight overs. It looked like a decent total, with the visitors carrying some big names. But the reputation was short lived as the Blackcaps were restricted to 61/6 and thereby India winning the encounter by 6 runs.

Rohit sizzles in the field

Rohit couldn’t contribute much with the bat, as he perished after scoring just eight runs but you can’t keep him out of the game for too long. Rohit took a stellar of a catch to dismiss the century maker form the last game Colin Munro. It was the 2nd over of the Kiwi innings when Munro skied one up in the air and Rohit kept his eyes wide open to take the catch nice and fine. It turned out to be a big wicket and the rest of the batters couldn’t fire much.

The visitors will bite their skin for coming this close to winning both the ODI and T20I series but ended up going without the silverware. On the other hand, Virat Kohli will be mighty pleased with the efforts from his boys. Check out the outstanding catch right here:
