Indian ace-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took social media by surprise as he announced the delightful news of his engagement with Youtuber Dhanashree Verma. The couple shared the pictures from their engagement ceremony on their respective social media profiles and received a lot of wishes from all over the world.

Chahal is quite active on social media and has been entertaining his fans throughout the lockdown. He posted quite a few hilarious videos on TikTok, some featuring his family too. However, the batsman had made distance from Tik Tok after the Indian government banned 59 Chinese applications. The 30-year-old is spending time with his family at his home in Haryana.

Sharing the pictures of his engagement, Chahal wrote, “We said “Yes” along with our families #rokaceremony.”

As soon as Chahal broke out the news of his engagement, a plethora of Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and many more posted warm wishes for the newly engaged couple.

Both Rohit and Chahal will be seen in action in IPL 2020

Meanwhile, India’s limited-over vice-captain and a good friend Rohit Sharma had a special wish for the Indian spinner. Rohit took a friendly jibe on Chahal while wishing him for his new journey. Sharma shared a meme where an old and a young RCB fan can be seen together. Notably, the face of the old man resembles that of Chahal’s. The meme read, “Yuzvendra Chahal with youngster in IPL 2050,”

The opening batsman wrote, “Bhai congrats on your engagement. Best wishes @yuzi_chahal”

Both Rohit Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal will be seen in action in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League which is all set to be played from September 19 to November 10 in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. While Rohit will lead the defending champions Mumbai Indians, Chahal will play for the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Indian cricket team was last seen in action during India tour of New Zealand in February this year after which the BCCI suspended all the series and tournaments including IPL 2020 in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
