The upcoming T20I series between India and West Indies will mark the return of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal together in the shortest format of the game While both the players are an indispensable part of the limited-overs format, India decided to try out some other options in recent times. The likes of Rahul Chahar, Krunal Pandya were tried out, keeping in mind the next year’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

But with less than a year remaining in the marquee event, India have decided to give up on experiments as they named both Kuldeep and Chahal in the T20I squad as well as the ODI squad. The two last played together against England in Cardiff 2018 and now have the chance to show the team-management that they cannot be dropped.

And before they take the field, India vice-captain Rohit Sharma took off some time from his training session to interview the two at Hyderabad ‘s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. In the video shared by the official handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rohit asked his younger teammates more about the leisure activities they do when not playing.

Rohit Sharma informed the audience that both spinners have insisted on the interview

At the start of the interview, Rohit informed the audience that both spinners have insisted the interview shall be done in English only. He started by asking Kuldeep and Chahal how they unwind off the field. In reply, Chahal said:

“Especially now, I moved back with my family. I just roam around with my family. Whatever time I get, I spend time with them. I spend time with my dog, whom I have adopted. His name is Groot.”

“I meet my childhood friends, and I go on long drives with them. Sometimes, I play pool or PS4 together. When you are playing for India or domestic tour, you don’t get time to meet them or talk to them. So, when I get time, I utilise it to spend time with my family, my friend, and my dog,” he added.

Rohit further asked Kuldeep about his favourite destination that he likes to travel when on tour with Team India. In reply, Kuldeep said: “Australia is beautiful. There are a few cities like Sydney and Melbourne. I like to go there and run outside. They all have good parks and stadiums and good hotels as well. I like to go there and take a run outside.”
