Veteran New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor shares a great bond with the Indian soil. In the recent times, his Twitter banters with former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has won the hearts of many. Ever since the tour commenced, Taylor was seen tweeting in Hindi to Sehwag. He replied to Sehwag’s remarks very well in Hindi. Things started off when the former Indian cricketer tried to take a cheeky dig at Ross Taylor by using a pun for his surname.

He referred to Ross’ surname as ‘tailor’ and often called the Kiwi cricketer as ‘darji’ – a Hindi word for tailor. Needless to cite, it was quite tricky for Taylor to decipher what the word meant initially. But as soon as he got to know the meaning, he started to respond back to Sehwag’s tweet with some serious class. He took the joke sportingly and trolled himself too on several occasions.

Prior to the third and the final T20I of the series, when the Kiwi team landed in Trivandrum, Ross Taylor was seen sharing a picture in which he was sitting outside a tailor’s shop. Now, just before heading back to New Zealand, Taylor had a lovely note for the fans.

He posted a picture on Instagram with Ish Sodhi and a member of team management, named Dev. He revealed that these two gentlemen helped him tackle Sehwag’s tweet in Hindi. He also said that ‘Dhulai’ (slogging) and ‘silaai’ (stitching) will continue to take place in the future as well. Taylor’s teammate, Colin Munro, also thanked India for the hospitality before leaving.

“As always India it was a pleasure. FYI – the two responsible for helping me with banter with @virendersehwag are here in this photo, thanks Dev and @ic3_odi , signing off with one last message: Dhullai aur Silaai Anne waale samay mein jaari rahegi ☺️#India #indvnz #Mumbai #darji,” wrote Ross Taylor.
