England completed a series win over South Africa as they took a lead of 2-0 in the 3-match T20I series by clinching a thriller in Paarl. South Africa got 50 runs in the powerplay while batting first but the slow pitch did tricks to keep the hosts down to 146/6. In reply, England got to 50-run mark in 7.2 overs for the loss of just one wicket. But the next six overs fetched them 33/3 as the required rate raised to 10. But Dawid Malan struck eight boundaries during his 40-ball 55 while Eoin Morgan scored an unbeaten 26 to help England complete the chase with a ball to spare.

England’s streak against South Africa:

4 – England won each of their last four T20I matches played against South Africa on the South African soil. England, thus has become the first side to beat the Proteas in four consecutive T20Is in South Africa.

Morgan moves up the charts:

6 – Eoin Morgan now has won a total of six T20I matches as captain against South Africa; the most number of T20I wins for any captain against them. Morgan thus went past MS Dhoni who has five T20I victories over the Proteas.

30 – Morgan has 30 outright victories as captain in the T20I format which are the 3rd most for any captain in Men’s T20I cricket behind MS Dhoni (41) and Asghar Afghan (39). A total 16 of Morgan’s 30 wins came while chasing which are also 3rd most for any captain in this format behind Dhoni (22) and Asghar (17).

7 – Eoin Morgan has been unbeaten in as many as seven successful run-chases while leading the team in T20Is; the 2nd most for any captain in Men’s T20I cricket behind MS Dhoni’s 12 instances. Morgan went past Virat Kohli (6) in this list with the unbeaten 26 during SA vs ENG.

Malan only behind Morgan:

9 – Number of fifty-plus scores for Dawid Malan in T20I cricket; the joint 2nd most by any player for England in Men’s T20Is. Eoin Morgan has a total of 14 T20I fifties for England while Alex Hales and Jos Buttler have nine apiece. Six of the nine 50+ scores of Malan came while chasing are also the 2nd most for England in men’s T20Is behind Morgan’s 11.

18 – Dawid Malan has nine fifty-plus scores in only 18 innings in the T20I format making him the fastest to get there. The previous fastest was Chris Gayle who also had a century and eight fifties in his first 24 innings.

Milestones for Rashid:

51 – Adil Rashid became only the 4th player to claim as many as 50 wickets in T20I cricket for England when he dismissed Reeza Hendricks on Sunday. Rashid is also the 2nd spin bowler with 50 T20I wickets for England with the first player being Graeme Swann (51).

201 – Adil Rashid also completed 200 wickets in the Twenty20 format when he dismissed Reeza Hendricks in the 2nd SA vs ENG T20I. Rashid is now only the 4th player from England to pick as many as 200 wickets in T20 cricket.

A slow knock from Rassie:

86.20 – Rassie van der Dussen had a batting strike rate of 86.20 during his unbeaten 29-ball 25 in SA vs ENG which is the lowest SR for any South African in a Men’s T20I while batting first (Min: 25 runs). The strike rate of 86.20 by Rassie is also the 4th lowest for South Africa in a Men’s T20I innings.
