Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli battle it out in the kit-up challenge

In the last year or so, the internet has witnessed many challenges but for a cricket fan perhaps nothing is better than the Kit-Up challenge.  The challenge is not at all new and was introduced around seven months ago but a recent video showing Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar trying their hands at it has gone viral.

Just like the other online challenges, one person nominating other was the basic rule of this challenge too. The rule was pretty simple – who could wear his complete cricket kit the quickest. The fans, nonetheless, wanted to see batting maestros Tendulkar and Kohli to try their hands at the challenge and the duo did not disappoint.

It was going to be an exciting contest between the experienced and calm Tendulkar, who plied his trade in international cricket for over two decades, and the ever-energetic Kohli, who looks set to create his own legacy in the game.

The advantage was definitely with Virat Kohli and the reasons were obvious. While Tendulkar retired in 2013, Kohli wears his kits almost every day. Unsurprisingly, the fans were desperate to watch the two fighting it out and the battle did live up to the expectations.

The fans are definitely more interested in comparing the star batsmen on the basis of their exploits on the cricket field. Virat Kohli was seen as the apparent heir to Tendulkar and so far the India skipper has very much lived up to the expectations. Not many would have thought that any batsman would even come close to Tendulkar’s stunning batting records but Kohli is proving everyone wrong with his remarkable consistency.

At just 30, Kohli has scored 39 ODI centuries and needs 11 more to break Tendulkar’s record. Kohli has also scored over 10,000 ODI runs and looks set to break quite a few records set by Tendulkar.
