Sachin Tendulkar reveals Laxman's secret in his cheeky birthday wish

Legendary former Indian cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, are known for their bonhomie. The two players share great camaraderie between them and have stitched numerous marathon partnerships for the Indian team during their playing days. The will and the ability to score great runs in toughest of conditions made them the legends of the game.

VVS Laxman turned 42 on November 1, 2017. On his birthday, Sachin Tendulkar took to micro-blogging site Twitter to wish his good friend and former teammate. Sachin posted a cheeky little message in his birthday tweet. He revealed the secret behind Laxman’s ability to score runs! Well, the fans certainly wanted to know what this secret could be.

Sachin mentioned that VVS Laxman used to go for a shower and then eat an apple before heading on to the crease to bat. Well, that is quite some routine. The players are known to have their own superstitions and apparently, this is what made Laxman comfortable during his playing days.

During their playing days, Sachin and Laxman forged many big partnerships. Their best often came against Australia. Their exploits during the 2003 India tour of Australia is still fresh in the minds of every Indian cricket fan. Together, they formed the core of the Indian middle-order along with Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly in Test cricket. The four players were fondly known as the fab four of the Indian cricket.

It is heartening to see their friendship being extended beyond the boundaries of their playing careers. The two stalwarts continue to mentor youngsters in the Indian domestic circuit, especially in the Indian Premier League for their respective loyal franchises.
