Taking notes from his former opening partner and good friend Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar has been quite active on Twitter these days. Right from wishing birthdays to live tweeting during the matches, he even makes predictions and the master blaster has taken up his interaction levels on social media.

Now, the greatest batsman in the history of the game played another straight drive from his Twitter account. This with regards to the legendary tennis player Roger Federer. Currently ranked World No.2, Federer progressed to the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon Open.

The Wimbledon tweeted about one of Roger Federer’s shots and equated it to forward defence, a very popular cricketing shot commonly used in Test cricket. They even tagged the International Cricket Council (ICC) and asked their views on it.

Here’s Wimbledon’s video post covering Federer’s shot:

The ICC had replied to the tweet and put up a picture of the recently updated ICC Rankings for the Test batsmen. It displays the Swiz star, Roger Federer as the No.1 ranked batsmen among Test batsmen.

Later in the day, RF’s mate, Indian batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar quoted the tweet and gave his perspective of the shot. He made a promise to catch up with Federer once he wins his 9th Wimbledon title.

Here’s Tendulkar’s tweet: “As always, great hand-eye co-ordination. @rogerfederer, let’s exchange notes on cricket and tennis after you win your 9th @Wimbledon title,” he wrote.

Both the sportsmen share a great rapport and mutual respect for each other’s achievements and what they’ve done for the sport. Sachin has often taken up a spot in the center court for key matches that Federer appears in. As for Federer, he once admitted that whenever he played cricket video games, his pick as a batsman was always Sachin.
