Sachin Tendulkar sends across a special birthday wish to Hardik Pandya

India’s latest all-round sensation Hardik Pandya turned 24 today and it is no surprise that he was flooded with tweets wishing him on the occasion. The Baroda local has been instrumental for Team India, making match-winning contributions with the bat, ball as well as on the field.

Pandya was awarded the man of the series award, incidentally for the first time in his professional career, after helping India beat Australia 4-1 in the just-concluded ODI series. In the five-match series, he scored 222 runs at an average of 55.50 and bagged six wickets. His campaign included a match-winning 83 in the series opener in Chennai, followed by another fluent 78 in Indore as India took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

The all-rounder shares his birthday with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan who he wished today, conveying that he was lucky to be sharing his birthday with a legend. A host of celebrities and cricketers wished Pandya, including Indian cricketers Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh and Jasprit Bumrah.

A heartfelt message was via a series of tweets where he conveyed to him by his elder brother, Krunal Pandya where he said, “You know what bro, I may get mad at you, may get angry on you sometimes too but reality is I can’t stay without you! It’s you who inspires me and gives me strength, I am really happy the way you have achieved everything. I know its just the beginning for you and us! Just wanna tell you that I will always be there for you and that I love u so much. Happy birthday my brother. God bless you. Keep shinning.”

Among the special wishes was that of Mumbai Indians’ mentor Sachin Tendulkar, who has seen the youngster’s growth from his IPL days with the franchise. He said, “From Mumbai Indians to winning the heart of every Indian. Happy birthday, @Hardikpandya7!
