Sachin Tendulkar shares special story behind bus number 315 from his building days

Sachin Tendulkar achieved many laurels in his international career, all credit to hard work, grit, and determination towards the game. In his initial days of training, he used to spend hours on the field to up his game as much as possible. He entered the game as a young little boy, and went on to become a cricketing legend, fondly known as the ‘God of Cricket’.

To date, many budding cricketers look up to him and consider him their idol. Not just Indian players, but even foreign players look up to him and remain in awe of what he achieved in his career. He has contributed a lot to the game and is one of the major reasons behind the popularity of it in the country.

On April 8, he shared a video on his official Instagram handle where he was seen narrating his journey from the past when he used to travel by bus to reach the ground for practice. He stood next to Mumbai’s bus, numbered 315, and shared the story behind that bus.

“After many years I have seen the 315 number bus. It would ply between Bandra and Shivaji Park and I used to travel by this bus and would be very excited about reaching Shivaji Park and starting my practice. After all the practice I would get tired and hope that my favourite seat, the last seat on the bus by the window, would be empty so that I could sit there and enjoy the ride with the cool breeze from outside. There were days when I would fall asleep and miss my bus stop. But it was great fun,” Sachin said recalling the good old days.

Tendulkar holds the record for playing the most number of Test matches in his career, accounting for 200. He ended his international career as the highest run-scorer in the Test format of the game and holds the record for scoring the highest number of international centuries. To date, he is the player with the most number of runs across all formats in international cricket. He is currently associated with the Mumbai Indians at IPL 2022 as the mentor of the team.
