Sachin Tendulkar takes it to Twitter to promote WHO's Safe Hands Challenge amid the Covid-19 debacle

It won’t wrong to say that the world of cricket has come to a complete stop in the wake of the outbreak of COVID-19. Cricket matches all across the globe have either been cancelled or postponed. The cancellation of these matches comes as a measure of prevention against the pandemic.

First, it was the Road Safety World Series 2020 which was cancelled. Several former international stars like Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were playing in that league. After that, the Indian Premier League was also suspended until April 15. Amidst all of this, many cricketers have spread awareness and preventional measures through their social media handles. On Tuesday, Sachin Tendulkar posted a video on Twitter in an attempt to spread awareness.

Indian sprinter Hima Das had posted a video where she took the ‘Safe Hands Challenge’, which aims to encourage washing hands properly as a precautionary step. In this video, she had nominated the likes Sachin Tendulkar, Saina Mirza, Akshay Kumar and many others.

Sachin Tendulkar decided to join in and post a video on Twitter. The initiative Safe Hands Challenge was started by the World Health Organization (WHO). The caption of the tweet was in Hindi. In this, the former Indian cricketer highlighted that we are all worried about the outbreak of the Coronavirus. “To stop this virus from spreading, we all can do an easy thing and this is to keep our hands clean. Make sure you wash your hands for 20 secs properly,” he wrote.

Many other Indian players have also posted their messages regarding the outbreak of COVID-19. Indian captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma have already tried spreading awareness of the disease. Suresh Raina and Sanath Jayasuriya are among others who have done their part in spreading awareness.

In India, there have been close to 140. positive cases of COVID-19 as of now. Though the death count is only three, the outbreak of the virus has worried the entire country.
