Rohit Sharma’s name has come up a lot more in last few days despite not being part of India’s touring squad to Australia. Interestingly, that has been the news ever since the team for the tour Down Under is picked. A lot has been said over Rohit’s injury and as it has turned out, no one has clarity over what has happened in his case.

The India skipper Virat Kohli saying that there has been lack of clarity in the matter. What raised eyebrows was his comment stating nobody knew why Rohit Sharma was not travelling with the team to Australia despite playing the IPL playoffs for Mumbai Indians. The Indian captain saying this left everyone in a state of shock and the BCCI is now under the scanner.

It is clear that there is a communication gap among the team members, precisely between India’s captain and vice-captain. And former India cricketer Ashish Nehra is disappointed with the matter going out of hands on a crucial tour. According to him, with the technology available, the selectors, head coach Ravi Shastri, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should’ve spoken at least once during the IPL to make things clear.

“Like everyone, even I am surprised and disappointed. I don’t understand this. You are talking about a player like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is saying he doesn’t know anything. For me, this is very sad. This shouldn’t happen these days. Technology is available for you and the concerned people should’ve communicated properly in this case,” he said while speaking to Cricbuzz.

Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of two Test matches

Rohit Sharma has already been ruled out of two of the four-match Test series against Australia. He is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and undergoing rehabilitation. He will be assessed on December 11 and only after then, his chances of travelling to Australia will be ascertained. Moreover, BCCI has even requested Cricket Australia to seek government’s permission to exempt Rohit from quarantine rules and let him train.
